16 December 2006SKY are showing Goal! throughout this month and next on their movie channels. Apologies I initially missed this, the service I subscribe to for TV listings doesn't feature her in the credits, so I only knew it was on when I stumbled across it while channel-hopping last night. Doh! Next airing is Christmas Day at 21:00 on SKY Movies 6 but no worries if the festivities prevent you from watching as it's on a further 9 times after that in the following 4 weeks! The only other Anna appearance on TV this month, unless there's something else she doesn't appear in the credits for(!), is the showing of The Land Girls on Thursday 28th at 18:50 on Film4. 10 November 2006Young Gracie is getting a early taste of the thespian lifestyle in the movie Bathory. Contactmusic.com, which is running the story, also claims that Anna scooped the lead "after begging Slovakian director JURAJ JAKUBISKO to ditch FAMKE JANSSEN and give her the part" They quote Anna as saying "Gracie plays my daughter. I'd heard they'd cast FAMKE JANSSEN but I read the script and fell in love with it. I've never written a letter to a director in my life but it made him change his mind and give me the part." 01 November 2006Even less for you to feast on televisually this month — the episode of Cadfael featuring Anna can be seen on ITV3 on the 11th. That's it. No compensation at all is the fact that this is almost impossible to miss, as it's being transmitted a total of 4 times that day if you include the airings on the +1 channel too. For US viewers it's even worse, with nothing scheduled at all. 01 October 2006Hardly believable, but SKY Movies 4's showings of Perfect Strangers on the 8th and Channel 4's airing of Mad Cows on the 31st represent Anna's only TV appearances for October. 01 September 2006Happy birthday to the site, which is 10 years old today, and recorded visitor number one million last weekend. Not many I suppose compared with the number of hits that Google copes with per hour, but gratifying nonetheless! Not a lot of Anna on the box this month actually. More 4 has The Land Girls tonight and tomorrow, while SKY Movies 8 is dragging on the showings of Perfect Strangers on the 12th. 01 August 2006Anna can still be seen in Perfect Strangers on SKY Movies 6 this month, once the 6th and twice on the 28th, while Artsworld continues the run of Our Mutual Friend on 6th/7th and 13th/14th. As she is presently away filming in Prague, the presentation of the doctorate will take place at a ceremony to be arranged in November. Goal! continues it's run on SKY Box Office, with multiple plays every day through to the 25th. Perfect Strangers makes a couple of appearances on SKY Movies (on the 1st and 6th) and, as announced last month, Artsworld is running Our Mutual Friend. 11 June 2006In addition to the TV appearances below, you can catch The Land Girls on Channel 4 on Tuesday 20 June at 8pm. Meanwhile Artsworld have scheduled the 4-part screening of Our Mutual Friend for July, starting on Sunday 2nd at 5pm. 1 June 2006Goal! premieres on SKY Box Office at the rather odd time of 6am next Wednesday (7th), and can be caught dozens of times thereafter should you feel like watching a pay-to-view movie. That aside the only other June offerings are An Everlasting Piece on FilmFour next Monday (5th) at 20:25, and 2 showings of Perfect Strangers on SKY Movies 8 on June 12th and again on SKY Movies 4 on 1st July. Erzsebet Bathory was a sadistic Countess of Transylvania, and reputedly the woman who inspired the classic Bram Stoker story of the legend of Dracula thanks in part to her belief that bathing in the blood of young virgins would improve her complexion and retain her youth.
